Her work has been featured in the media, both print and non-print, with over 15 Television and Radio interviews. The tremendous success of Almena's program led to the British Government's Basic Skill Unit piloting, approving, and naming it "The Almena Method®." Today, thousands of students have used and are using The Almena Method® in the USA, Canada, Britain and in the Caribbean. She relocated to England where she taught disadvantaged young people and used her typing program as a tool to motivate, inspire and empower them to enter the work world with confidence.

She established her own successful company, while contributing to training the poor and needy in Jamaica. When Almena created the method in her homeland over 20 years ago, little did she know that the world would be plunged into the information technology age and that typing would become a survival skill. The time for learning the keyboard has by the Method been reduced from many weeks to a few hours. Almena King combined memory techniques, music and motivational passages to create a dynamic example of original intellectual work which Almena's innovation has been to take the complicated and make it simple could be used to teach the keyboard in record time. She created The Almena Method®, incredibly effective method that teaches THE KEYBOARD IN 20 MINUTES, and can result in high speeds in short periods. Jamaica-born Almena King, author/educator/producer, survived the difficulties and disadvantages of life in a small developing country, only known for tourism, to emerge with a valuable invention of the information technology age.
